Junior GK Equipment Requirements

Junior GK Equipment Requirements

England Hockey released a "Minimum Equipment Requirment" for Junior Goalkeepers, details are blelow and can be downloaded as PDF by clicking on the image.

If you are a Goalkeeper participating in the Surrey DC or AC, or in the South PC or above, you will need to make sure your equipment meets these criteria

At Surrey DC camps, if you dont have the correct equipment you will not be able to participate in the training sessions.

Some parents do ask us if we supply and "Loan" GK Kit for the DC camps.

We do not do this for a number of reasons but the main one being the Health and Saftey of the individual Goalkeeper.

It is important the GK kit used is correctly fitted as kit that is too small can leave areas of the GK exposed to being hit, and if it is too big it can impeed to movement of the GK which can also result in injury.

All the GK's attending the DC sessions have been nominated by a club or school. Without doubt the best place to borrow kit from is where you use it on a day to day basis and that will be the club or school that nominated the GK.

With in the region of 120 to 150 GK attending DC each year it would be impossible for Surrey to hold enough kit to cover the potential of the GK's neededing to borrow kit
