FAQs - Camp Allocation

All DC camp allocations are based on a 1st come 1st served system. If your child is not allocated the same camp or pitch as their friend there could be a number of reasons, the main 2 being:

  1. One or both of the players registered late and missed out of thier 1st choice
  2. Although the same school year you child and friend may be born in different years.

Part of the benefit of the DC camps is for players to train and play with players of their own age group but from different schools and clubs.  Similarly they will benefit from working with different coaches.

All players will receive a written report on their training at the DC camp.

We aim to produce and process that report in 3 to 4 weeks from the end of the camp, although that is not always possible.

Once all the camps have finished some, but not all DC participants, will be invited to the ACA sessions.

Information on selection to the next level will come out ASAP

Please Click here for information on the dates for the assessment sessions. Players MUST attend assessment sessions to be eligable for selection to AC squads

Final AC selection information will be provided in late October/Early November

Surrey HA aims to make the DC sessions fun and a good learning enviroment for all the players.

However, it should be understood by the players and parents that the DC is the 1st step in and "Elite" focused system aimed at producing future England players.

The DC is not for beginners and there is an expectation that players attending DC have a good base knowledge of Hockey

We will always try to accomodate changes such as this however we cannot guarentee which camp we will be able to swap you to. Your 2nd choice camp may already be full.

If you have not been allocated your 1st choice camp it is very likely due to it being full and other players signing up before you.

We will always try and accomodate a change but we would suggest you have at least 2 options availbale when you contact us.
