Invitation E-mails are in the process of being sent to those players nominated by their clubs and schools to attend the Surrey Development Centres.
Due to the current Pandemic restrictions there are fewer places on each camp this year.
We wish to draw your attention to the information below which is also included in your confirmation mail.
Please read the following information carefully.
The current pandemic has required Surrey Hockey to make some changes to the running of the Development Camps this year.
If ANYONE in your household or your close social circle is symptomatic or is isolating within 14 days of the start of camp then the player MUST NOT ATTEND. Please contact us as soon as possible and we will, where we can, to book a place at another camp. If this is not possible then a refund will be arranged minus PayPal fees.
All staff and players will have temperature checks at the beginning of each day of camp using a non-contact thermometer.
Anyone with a temperature over 38 degrees will be isolated and will be asked to leave camp. Again, where practical, a place at another camp may be offered after 7 days of isolation and a proof of a negative Covid-19 test.
Subsequently if anyone within your family group presents with Covid-19 symptoms please let us know as soon as possible so we can instigate the track and trace process and advise those who attended camp to isolate and get tested.
On the camp days parents/guardians are respectfully asked to remain in their cars at drop off and collection times.Staff wearing protective equipment will be available at drop off points to assist the players with accessing the venue and registration.
Similarly, at collection time parents must adhere to the guidelines published for each location. Players will only be released once visible contact has been made with the parent in the car park. Parents are not permitted to spectate or come to the pitch.
As in previous years there will be two 30 minute lunch breaks. This allows the players to have more productive rest in between sessions and will allow more space and distance for players on the pitches.
You must provide a packed lunch and snacks for each day and players will be reminded to sit at least 1m apart and not share their food or refreshments with other players or coaches. All trash must be taken home and not put in bins at the venues.
Please be advised each child will need to bring at least 3 litres of water to camp each day. There are NO top up facilities at the venues.
All players are advised to bring hand sanitiser. There are hand washing facilities at all camps but getting all players washed before and after breaks will be a logistical challenge. There will be hand sanitiser available pitch side.
Should any player require first aid this will be administered by the appointed person who will be wearing gloves and mask. All coaches will have gloves and masks to put on for immediate first aid.
Players will be reminded they must refrain from picking up balls and cones to avoid the possibility of contamination.Disinfection stations will be set up on each pitch to clean equipment at regular intervals.
All players must come to camp with the correct personal playing equipment. Shin pad and mouth guard are compulsory for outfield players. All goalkeepers must have neck protectors, groin protection and elbow pads.
Players MUST NOT touch or share any personal items.
To enable us to hold the camps whilst adhering to COVID-19 restrictions the written feedback given will be brief and will be concentrated on areas for development.
We will be operating staggered start times for each camp to avoid traffic congestion, adhere with COVID-19 restrictions and limit adult to adult contact.
Start times for each camp age group will differ. U13 (2008/09) and U15 (2006) will run from 09:30 – 14:30. U14 , U16 and goalkeepers camps will run from 10:00 – 15:00. Please ensure you arrive promptly for pickup.
Under 17 (2004) camps are to be run different this year. The camps will be 2 day camps starting at 09:00 and finishing at 16:00 and all U17 players will be invited to the assessment process in September.
Pitch side – Players must NOT use the dug out or coach's areas. Kit bags must be stowed against the fencing 1m apart.
England Hockey's Return to Play restrictions may be lifted during the course of this programme. All players are to be assessed on the same non contact criteria regardless of the restriction level.
We reserve the right to cancel any camp or change the venue at short notice if we are required to comply with new government guidelines that forbid us to hold camps at certain venues.
